DESCRIPTION

We're inviting experienced civil roadworks inspectors to express their interest, particularly those who are already prequalified for the DTMR IR01/IR02 levels.

Within the Contract Administration and Verification Services (CAVS) team, an inspector holds a pivotal role of overseeing, auditing, evaluating, and reporting on various facets of roadworks contracts and maintenance delivery. Their primary responsibility lies in ensuring strict adherence to Transport and Main Roads policies, standards, specifications, and contractual documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Offer advice in relation to pre-construction, construction, and maintenance.

  • Conduct and oversee audits, ensuring contractor compliance with contract conditions, including conducting specialised inspections as necessary.

  • Review contractor programs (when required) identifying and rectifying deficiencies to meet safety, environmental, and contract requirements.

  • Implement project management, quality assurance systems, and risk management plans.

  • Monitor construction/maintenance ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety while also contributing towards enhancing the systems in place.

  • Maintain detailed records of daily works and generating necessary reports throughout projects.

  • Mentor and train engineering graduates and less experienced personnel.

  • Resolve construction issues amicably using strong relationship-building skills.


Mandatory Qualifications

  • Rights to work in Australia.

  • Current drivers licence.


Mandatory Experience

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the supervision and/or surveillance of road construction, bitumen and asphalt surfacing, and routine maintenance practices and projects.

  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of the DTMR Technical Specifications, policies, and technical standards pertaining to road construction.


Desirable Experience

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management and email.
