The Contract Administrator oversees significant road infrastructure construction contracts, ensuring they meet specific standards, stay within budget, and adhere to designated timelines. The CA01 position can be filled by either an Administrator or an Administrator’s Representative depending on the size of the project.
Responsibilities
Contribute towards the establishment and administration of government road infrastructure contracts and ensure adherence to quality standards, and timely, cost-effective completion.
Fulfil the roles of Administrator or Administrator’s Representative in the administration and surveillance of contracts in accordance with the General Conditions of Contract and DTMR standards and procedures.
Manage all contract phases for road projects with a key emphasis on quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
Lead a team of engineers, technical staff, and external advisors in the delivery of infrastructure projects.
Implement monitoring and reporting systems for continuous improvements across the project.
Provide reports and briefing notes on project status, costs, project conditions, and major incidents.
Monitor project expenditures including contract payments and administration costs, forecasting budget trends, and cashflow needs.
Mandatory Qualifications
Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
A degree in Civil Engineering from an institute recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia.
Rights to work in Australia.
Current drivers licence.
Mandatory Experience
Prequalification within the DTMR CA system as a CA01 (either must be prequalified prior to applying or be eligible to prequalify with previous experience).
This includes a minimum of three years experience working as a SEC02 Site Engineer or a minimum of six years experience in supporting the administration of road infrastructure projects.
A minimum of seven years of post-graduate experience in any combination of the contract administration, construction, maintenance, and design of road infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience in all contract administration aspects of road infrastructure construction including asphalt and granular pavements, pavement surfacing, road furniture, bridge, earthworks, drainage, electrical, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), landscape and urban design, and retaining walls.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of AS 2124 General Conditions of Contract.
Experience in project development, contract management and/or delivery of civil engineering projects, desirably including roads and bridges.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of road, bridge design, construction, maintenance and materials.
Knowledge of AS 2124 and AS 4300 styles of contracts.
