A site engineer in the Contract Administration and Verification Services (CAVS) team plays a crucial role in delivering major infrastructure projects within set timelines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks. They operate under the guidance of an Administrator’s Representative/Senior Project Engineer, offering a spectrum of professional services to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
Contribute towards the efficient management of infrastructure projects to meet time, cost and quality goals.
Identify and address project risks through proactive constructibility assessments.
Track progress, foresee issues, and take corrective action (if necessary) to ensure objectives are met.
Set and oversee project quality standards in collaboration with clients.
Offer timely, well-informed advice based on technical, commercial, and risk factors.
Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment, free from discrimination and harassment by working in accordance with legislative requirements, the Code of Conduct and departmental human resource policies, including the Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications
A degree in Civil Engineering from an institute recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia.
Rights to work in Australia.
Current drivers licence.
Mandatory Experience
A minimum of one year of experience in road infrastructure construction projects.
A thorough understanding of the DTMR Technical Specifications, technical standards, policies, and processes pertaining to infrastructure delivery.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of AS 2124 General Conditions of Contract.
Experience in project development, contract management and/or delivery of civil engineering projects, desirably including roads and bridges.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of road, bridge design, construction, maintenance and materials.
Knowledge of AS 2124 and AS 4300 styles of contracts.
